WHY I STARTED FUELED HEALTH
Hi, I’m Sara — a nurse practitioner, nutrition specialist, and lifelong athlete.
Movement and fueling well have always been part of who I am. I earned a degree in Exercise and Health Science, worked as a personal trainer, and later became a nurse practitioner because I wanted to help people take charge of their health in meaningful ways.
But in every role, I kept running into the same frustration: the system is designed for quick fixes, not lasting health. In conventional medicine, people often aren’t truly heard. Symptoms are patched with prescriptions, cookie-cutter advice is given, and the deeper causes — nutrition, hormones, stress, lifestyle — are rarely addressed.
Patients leave with another pill, but no real plan.
Working in the ER made this crystal clear. The people I cared for didn’t just need treatment in a crisis — they needed tools, strategies, and support before things spiraled. They needed someone to listen, connect the dots, and give them a way forward.
WHY NUTRITION IS AT THE CORE
Alongside my clinical work, I pursued a Master’s degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition (to be completed December 2025). This training has only deepened what I’ve always believed: food is powerful. It has the ability to heal, restore balance, and fuel resilience — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Nutrition is often the root cause and the root solution for so many struggles — from hormones and energy, to mood, anxiety, and even how we show up as athletes. And yet, it’s so often overlooked or treated as an afterthought.
For athletes especially, food is more than fuel. It can be a source of stress, pressure, and even identity struggles around performance and competition. I believe athletes — like anyone else — deserve guidance that’s both science-driven and compassionate, so food becomes a tool for strength, not another weight to carry.

WHY IT MATTERS TO ME
I’ve lived this on both sides: as a clinician watching people struggle without answers, and as an athlete learning what it takes to fuel performance and resilience over a lifetime. My passion is helping people find clarity in the noise, and giving them strategies that actually work in real life — not cookie-cutter solutions, but personalized, practical guidance rooted in nutrition and the power of food.
